– Navigating university: understanding key dates, processes and the support available from your institution.

– Digital skills: using online learning platforms and tools more confidently.

– Wellbeing and next steps: talking through study stress, course choices and future career options, and linking you with other support if needed.

As someone that struggles to study at home and does not have a lot of interactions with other students, this place gives me access to some of those people within the area. There is also space for me to get some study time when I need it and allows me to book a separate room if I need a quiet space to study. There are opportunities for me to book a space for those times I am studying with others as well. There are also resources that I can use to make sure that I am on track with assessments and they have the resources to have a look for work in the industry that I am studying for or something that I might be looking for closer to home. There is also a printer available so that I am not always having to go elsewhere to get pages printed, if I needed it. There is also a kitchenette so I don't have to feel like I have to leave for food if I can bring something with me. I would recommend this space for those who are needing the space to get stuff done.

Can I just say, the Beenleigh University Study Hub is something truly special. At the heart of it are Pearl and Joline; an exceptional duo who have created a space of genuine uplift, care, and academic excellence for our Logan community. This hub has become a powerful site of support for community academics, researchers, emerging scholars, developing scholars, and seasoned scholars alike who are living and working in Logan. The energy, engagement, and sense of belonging that Pearl and Joline cultivate is tangible from the moment you walk in. As a Pacific learner, I am especially appreciative of the va that is intentionally built through Pearl’s leadership style. The environment is deeply collective and collaborative, grounded in relationships, reciprocity, and shared success. This way of leading and learning matters, and it is felt in how people are welcomed, supported, and encouraged to thrive together. Joline’s care for detail and thoughtful creativity brings an additional layer of warmth to the space and provides a much needed sense of being home for many students who are seeking a place to belong. A big highlight for many of the social events co designed by Joline, Pearl, and the members of the hub is Joline’s perfectly prepared platters of bakery pleasures, which are offered with generosity and care and help nurture connection, conversation, and community. Pearl and Joline are also a wealth of knowledge and community connections. For those seeking a pathway into the industries they are training for, the guidance and networks they share are invaluable. Equally, for school leavers entering tertiary study for the first time, their support, encouragement, and practical advice help make the transition into university study feel possible, supported, and hopeful. The hub is situated in an incredibly accessible location. It is just a two minute walk to both the Gold Coast and Brisbane train lines, a two minute walk to the Beenleigh bus station, or a two minute drive off the M1. This accessibility removes barriers to participation and makes higher learning feel local, achievable, and welcoming. What truly sets this space apart is the way learning is done collectively and purposefully. From informative and practical workshops, to the way milestones are celebrated together, to the encouragement of interactive, intergenerational networking and mentorship, this is not just a study space. It is a thriving academic community. The Beenleigh University Study Hub offers a safe, nurturing, and well resourced learning environment for all who join. Personally, I have felt deeply empowered by Pearl and Joline’s approach. Having a place so close to home that supports focus, productivity, and excellence has made a real difference to my work. With their encouragement and guidance, I have been able to produce strong academic and research outcomes across multiple projects. This hub is a gift to Logan. Pearl and Joline are quietly and powerfully reshaping what community based academic support can look like. It is grounded, generous, and transformative. Highly recommended.
